Telemicro 5 began its live broadcasts in 1995 as a successor of Canal 6 which was founded in 1986. The transmission was changed in 1990 and the channel became available on UHF 6.
It is available in standard definition but the parent company Group Telemicro announced HD broadcast in the next years. It mostly airs soaps and entertainment programs.
